Atturi Lehkonen Signs Extension with the Colorado Avalanche
The Colorado Avalanche are keeping another forward in house and have signed Artturi Lehkonen to a five-year extension.
The Colorado Avalanche inked a massive deal with Valeri Nichushkin a couple of days ago. One day one of free agency, they signed Josh Manson on defense, then another forward to an extension, inking Artturi Lehkonen to a five-year extension. The deal is worth $4.5 million per season.
He scored 8 goals in 20 playoff games for the Avs and was one of the trade deadline deals that really worked out for Colorado. He was a RFA and the Avs really liked what he was able to give them. Both he and the team were focused on getting a deal done in Colorado. He is a hard-working forechecking middle-six winger who helps everyone he plays with. He’s clutch, versatile, and effective. Often described as a low-maintenance coach’s dream, it’s not surprising the Avs had him high on their priority list.
