The Chicago Blackhawks beat the struggling New York Rangers to snap a six-game losing streak. The Rangers were booed by their hometown fans.
The Chicago Blackhawks and New York Rangers faced off in an Original Six game at Madison Square Garden. The Blackhawks came into the game on a six-game losing streak and were looking to snap it. As for the Rangers, they are looking to get back on track after trading their captain, Jacob Trouba. It did not go well for the Rangers, who were heavily booed by their fans in a 2-1 loss. Things seem to be going from bad to worse.
Have Yourself a Night, Taylor Hall!
Taylor Hall showed up in a big way for the Blackhawks. He had a goal and an assist that helped his club beat a reeling Rangers team. Hall’s first point on the night was an assist on Tyler Bertuzzi‘s goal at the 11:50 mark in the first period. The play developed with Hall taking advantage of a Zibanejad mistake. He then found Bertuzzi at the hash marks, and he buried it by Shesterkin.
His second point was his goal that put the Blackhawks back on top and would stand as the game-winner. The play developed on a two-on-one with Connor Bedard. Bedard sauced the puck over a sprawling Rangers defenceman to Hall. Who was able to deke out Shesterkin and slide the puck into the net before crashing into the end boards.

Anders Sorensen’s First NHL Win
After taking over for the fired Luke Richardson. Anders Sorensen has gotten his first NHL win with the Blackhawks. After a hard-fought game by the entire team, he has finally been rewarded with what every coach dreams about. Sorensen’s night was highlighted by him stacking their top line with Hall, Bedard, and Bertuzzi. Which was the line that stood out and essentially won the game for them.
The other notable player that helped secure the win was Arvid Soderblom, who got the start. Sorensen got to see what Soderblom can do when he saved 29/30 Rangers shots. Overall, the team played very well under their new head coach. The hope is that that style of play can continue, and the Blackhawks can go on a run with Sorensen behind the bench.
