Canucks Trade for Marcus Pettersson from Penguins

After the Vancouver Canucks traded JT Miller yesterday, they weren’t finished. They added blue-liners Marcus Pettersson and left-winger Drew O’Connor in a trade with the Pittsburgh Penguins. Headed the other way were Danton Heinen, Vincent Desharnais, and the first-round pick the team picked up from the New York Rangers in the Miller trade. Pettersson (Marcus) might be critical because he adds steady defense that would complement Quinn Hughes and Filip Hronek.

Stars Make Big Moves, Acquire Mikael Granlund and Cody Ceci

Today, the Dallas Stars made a trade with the San Jose Sharks. The Stars added Mikael Granlund and Cody Ceci in the trade. The Sharks, who are continuing to rebuild, added two future draft picks – a first-rounder and a third-rounder. With the trade, Dallas improves its depth for the Stanley Cup chase.
