Morgan Frost Scores First Goal as a Calgary Flame in Style

In his debut for the Calgary Flames, newly-acquired center Morgan Frost scored a beauty goal for his first with the team.

Morgan Frost has officially arrived in Calgary. The newly acquired forward scored his first goal as a Flame in their matchup against the Seattle Kraken, becoming the 403rd player in franchise history to find the back of the net.

The Flames are hoping they’ve found a center that will be a key piece for them for the next many years. Frost’s goal was a sample of what he might be able to bring to the organization.

On a two-on-two rush, he effortlessly skated around Vince Dunn’s poke check before sniping a perfect shot past Kraken goaltender Joey Daccord. It was a well-earned tally after he nearly scored earlier in the game, with one close call sliding just across the goal line before being cleared.

It’s still early, but this is exactly what the Flames were looking for with the trade. The 24-year-old has the skill, and his smooth transition play showed off what he might be capable of. While his overall production remains to be seen, it looks like he’ll be able to generate offense.

“Hopefully we can come in and give the team a boost,” Frost said after his first practice in Calgary. So far, he’s done just that.

If he continues to build on performances like this, the Flames may have found a valuable offensive weapon as they push forward in the season.
