Brock Boeser Signs 3-Year Extension with Canucks
RFA forward Brock Boeser has signed a three-year extension with the Vancouver Canucks.
As per multiple reports, pending RFA forward Brock Boeser has signed a three-year extension with the Vancouver Canucks. The Canucks confirmed the signing minutes later, writing in a statement: “General Manager Patrik Allvin announced today that the club has agreed to terms with right-wing Brock Boeser on a 3-year contract worth $6.65 million per season.”

The deal is even as a salary over all three seasons but there is a limited no-trade clause (10 team no trade) in the final year.
There was consideration and speculation that the Canucks might have been prepared to move on from Boeser, even though publicly the team had said they’d like to keep him. This three-year deal is a showing by the Canucks that they are willing to give the play more time to turn into the offensive threat the club is hoping he can consistently be. Some will see this deal as a mutual compromise by both sides. Boeser’s agent Ben Hankinson said of the deal, “Brock is happy, he loves Vancouver. Talks picked up today, we avoid arbitration (deadline to file is tomorrow) which can get ugly.”
As per popular Twitter account JFresh, “Boeser is a scoring winger who hasn’t really scored that much at 5v5 lately. Not a big playdriver either; his linemates do most of the work with the puck and he takes the shots. #Canucks”
