Can’t Miss Flicks: 5 New Must-See Movie Trailers

If you had to pick five movies to see this season, we think we may have narrowed it down for you.

The Darkest Minds

Release date: August 3

From the producers of Arrival and Stranger Things comes this dystopian tale of society’s post-apocalypse rebuilding. In a new world where parents are encouraged to hand over their offspring to authorities, the adults in charge fear the ‘changed’ surviving children, and the remaining younger population is under heavy guard in prison camps, segregated by colour-coded prison scrubs for the nature of their new supernatural gifts. With the help of doctor Cate (Mandy Moore), fire-starter Ruby (Amandla Stenberg, “Rue” of Hunger Games fame) joins a small band of runaway young people with special abilities; freedom fighters who are encouraging the resistance over a commandeered radio channel.

The action heats up as the rebels evade vicious bounty hunter Lady Jane (Gwendoline Christie), jail-break the ‘campers’ and attempt to overthrow those in power. From the novel of the same name by #1 New York Times best-selling author Alexandra Bracken, these teen fugitives will give everyone a run for their money this summer.
