One of the bigger offensive producers for the Seattle Kraken (or at least they hope) is Yanni Gourde. Until now, he’s been unable to suit up for the NHL’s newest team but on Tuesday, he’ll make his debut for the Kraken as they take on the New Jersey Devils and try to go 2-2-1 on the season.

This is Gourde’s debut three months after shoulder surgery. He spoke with the media ahead of the game and noted there were a few items such as timing and how the team felt about his health that were factors in his being able to finally play. He noted that he knew it was possible that he would be able to participate during the road trip. He just wasn’t entirely sure when.
The back-to-back and having a few days off played a role in the team’s decision to ultimately give him the go-ahead. Head coach Dave Hakstol says Gourde is 100% ready and has “full availability”. He will play without restrictions. It will be interesting to see what he brings in an elevated role.
In other Kraken news, Vince Dunn is a game-time decision, plus the team called up goaltender Joey Daccord while placing, Chris Driedger on IR.
