As we gear up for a busy couple of days in the NHL, I had the pleasure of hosting a panel writers from The Hockey Writers, discussing all 32 teams and what they’ll be doing heading into this year’s deadline day. From the Buffalo Sabres and Boston Bruins in the East Division to the Edmonton Oilers and Toronto Maple Leafs in the North Division, we cover every team. We even take a look at how much the Seattle Kraken might play a role in Monday’s action.

If you’re like us and want to know the most up-to-date chatter from around the league, this is a must watch. We dig deep into the Taylor Hall discussion, take a look at what teams might be willing to take on salary so that teams with little cap space can still be active and we focus on a few key names to watch, revisiting a couple of the trades that already went down.

Which team(s) is there a lot of talk about but there is likely to be little action? Meanwhile, which teams are gearing up to make a big splash? Is there a surprise club out there that will knock our socks off with an unexpected move? Or, is this bound to be a very quiet deadline as some insiders have mentioned.

Teaser on Some of the Discussion:

Taylor Hall

There’s lots of talk that Hall will be moved but the chatter Friday is that teams are looking at a trade-and-sign scenario more than a straight rental deal. Speculation is that the first-round pick ask from the Sabres isn’t likely to happen and teams may be waiting to see if the price comes down.

David Savard Update

The Columbus Blue Jackets are expected to be busy with names like Nick Foligno and David Savard leading the way. A handful of teams could be talking about the blueliner, including Florida, Winnipeg and maybe even Tampa Bay.

Sharks, Blackhawks, Red Wings Taking on Money

How much salary are these three teams willing to take on before Monday’s deadline? We’ve already seen the Blackhawks make a deal and there’s chatter more could come. Can one of these clubs open the door for another team to make a big splash?
