According to his agent Allan Walsh, goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury will be sticking around for at least one more NHL season after the conclusion of the 2021-22 campaign. While he didn’t comment on where he intends to play or what kind of deal he’d be looking for, Fleury noted that he wasn’t quite ready to hang up his goalie pads yet.

Walsh quoted Fleury in a Twitter post on Tuesday saying, “I would like to play at least another season. I decided that recently…I still love to play, I still have fun, my body is still holding up most of the time (laughs)…so yes, another season and then we will see after.” The quote came after an optional practice with Minnesota Wild, where Fleury is closing out this season and hoping to make a run in the playoffs.
There is some chatter that Fleury might be interested in signing an extension with the Wild and it is already known the Wild would like to have him back. He noted, “It’s fun to be part of a good team with a good gang of guys.” Fleury added, “Cam is a super good person, he’s a good goalkeeper, we get along well together. It makes things simpler.”
Whether or not the two will up be for sharing the crease next season and for a full 82 games is another story. Still, a playoff run makes sense and Fleury notes, “I think together, the two of us, we should play [in the playoffs]. We will do our best to help this team. “
Fleury holds sole possession of the longest active playoff streak in all major sports. No other athlete has put together this string of consistent playoff appearances.

Toronto should try to sign Fleury. He would look good in a Leaf uniform.
