Flyers Could Enter Trade Talks on Owen Tippett if Interest Picks Up
Could Owen Tippett be on the trade block? Discover the latest news about the potential Flyers trade discussions.
The Philadelphia Flyers could be open to exploring trade options for forward Owen Tippett, according to insider David Pagnotta. Appearing on the DFO Rundown show, Pagnotta admitted that nothing is imminent, but he suggested that the Flyers might start listening if other NHL teams begin poking around.
Of course, that could be the case for any NHL player. It goes without saying that if trade interest picked up, teams would talk making a deal. In Philadelphia, the situation is a tad different. Tippett can be a difference-maker, but he’s polarizing.
Tippett has shown flashes of being a big part of what the Flyers are trying to do, but he’s also shown he can be one of the more frustrating players in the NHL. The appetite for his inconsistent play may be growing thin in Philadelphia, but Tippett carries a hefty contract.
Pagnotta reported, “I could see Philadelphia at least listening on Owen Tippett.” He said there was no immediate urgency, but preliminary interest from other teams could spark discussions.

Pagnotta explained that there is no reason for the Flyers to feel like they need to make a move right now. He believes they could wait until the trade deadline—or even the summer—before pulling the trigger on a trade. However, the analyst wonders if there is a growing sense that a trade could benefit both parties.
Pagnotta reiterated, “Someone will be interested,” suggesting that while the Flyers can afford to wait, if the opportunity presents itself to do something, the Flyers would be open to it.
