A fourth-round pick of the Oilers back in 2014, Lagesson is playing with HC Vita Hasten in Sweden while he waits for the start of the 2020-21. He’s been getting a bit of attention in Sweden’s second-tier. He’s scored nine points in eleven games and the Oilers have hopes he might be able to compete for a regular spot on the NHL roster next season.

Lagesson said, “I feel ready to take that step and to be able to take a regular place.” He seems to be approaching next season with a ton of confidence.

Up to this point, he’s yet to cement himself a spot on the roster and has moved back and forth between the AHL for Bakersfield — where he scored 3 goals and 7 assists in 25 games (0.4 points/game) — and the Oilers.
