Deftones Present Good Morning Beautiful Ale

Chino and Co. have crafted a truly special limited edition darker style Brown Ale. Give Good Morning Beautiful Ale a try.

Perhaps it’s a strange thing to review a brown ale on the beginning days of summer, but it’s also a strange world we live in when the best beers around happen to be collaborations with bands. Sacramento’s Deftones have got together with Belching Beaver out of Vista California to bring us a collection of craft brews that could be put up against the best of them for any award going.

Forming in 1988, the Deftones have helped shape alternative rock and all forms of heavy music to its current state of chaotic, ambient bliss. With the use of metal-inspired guitars from Stephen Carpenter, the addition of Frank Delgado’s use of samples and turntable mastery, Chi Cheng and Sergio Vega’s groove inspired bass tone working wonders with Abe Cunningham’s wood on skin expertise behind his kit, this band would be one of the most successful instrumental pieces of you just stopped there. But we can’t just stop there because Chino Moreno takes everything from Sinatra to Ian Curtis to Jacob Bannon to Maynard James Keenan and Trent Reznor and moods it into one of the most unique yet all-encompassing vocal styles to ever be mixed in with a band. So, it should come as no surprise that anything this band puts its name to is going to be like onion.

Belching Beaver

‘Good Morning Beautiful’ is the third collaboration with Belching Beaver and named after the song featured on the bands self-titled 2003 release. With the flip of the lip your, senses get overloaded with maple and coffee, preparing your palate for a cacophony of flavor that is as complex as the Deftones music itself. There are coffee flavors as rich as a fine dark chocolate and an aftertaste reminiscent of the beans of the Columbian hills. Dark and golden in color, you can see the maple syrup used in the brewing process was not in waste. Both work amazingly with the backbone of coconut that helped to make this beer one of the best I have had in a very long time.

Chino and Co. have crafted a truly special limited edition darker style Brown Ale. Sweet, bitter and all around rich, it’s time you head to your local fine beer store and drop that needle on your record player tonight. Drop in, it’s your summer!
