Dallas Stars Will Have Fans In Arena to Start 2020-21 NHL Season
According to The Athletic, per Stars president and CEO Brad Alberts, Stars will have fans to start the season, approximately 5,000.
While the seven Canadian teams aren’t even sure where they’re playing yet, some U.S.-based teams are already making plans for their home games. Many states won’t allow large gatherings, but some states have limited regulations and as such, these teams will move forward trying to maximize revenues while adhering to the guidelines.

One example of this is the Dallas Stars. According to Saad Yousuf of The Athletic, “Per Stars president and CEO Brad Alberts, Stars will have fans to start the season, approximately 5,000. Says it’ll be similar to watch parties in September for Stanley Cup Finals.”
What this means for season ticket holders versus non season ticket holders isn’t clear at this time, but that information should start to reveal itself soon.
Stars Are a Team That Needs This
The Stars made it all the way to the Stanley Cup Finals in 2019-20 before finally losing out to the Tampa Bay Lightning. It would have been nice for Stars fans to have seen that unbelievable run considering few believed the Stars were a team that might make it to the Finals. As the next season begins, the Stars want top open up the arena as much as possible to those fans who missed out.
The Stars are also a team that may struggle financially if there is not a way to make money off of ticket sales. While not in the same category as an Arizona, there’s not always a huge appetite for Stars hockey if the team isn’t winning. Every ticket counts in that market.

Dallas will play division rivals eight times in the regular season as part of the Central Division. They’ll be in the same division as Carolina, Chicago, Columbus, Detroit, Florida, Nashville and Tampa Bay.
Training camp opens January 3, with opening night Jan 13th.
