It appears the Boston Bruins have added a defenseman to their roster on Thursday. Alexander Petrovic, who had been in Bruins’ training camp on a professional tryout, has been officially signed.
He was placed on waivers essentially confirming the signing and then CapFriendly has confirmed the one-year, two-way contract, valued at a $700K cap hit in the NHL.
It does appear that he will be headed to the Providence Bruins after waivers process tomorrow.
Petrovic played just 35 games last season split between the Florida Panthers and Edmonton Oilers. He had only two points and was often a healthy scratch. In 263 regular season games he has just 50 points, but perhaps the Bruins see him as a low-cost option that can provide some NHL experience.
