2021 NHL Trade Deadline: Avalanche Acquire Soderberg from Blackhawks

The Colorado Avalanche bring back Carl Soderberg from the Chicago Blackhawks and moved Josh Dickinson and Ryder Rolston to get the deal done.

The Colorado Avalanche have announced that they have traded for a former player with time winding down on the 2021 NHL Trade Deadline. They’ve brought back Carl Soderberg from the Chicago Blackhawks and moved Josh Dickinson and Ryder Rolston to get the deal done. Dickinson is signed through this season (cap hit $925,000) & Rolston is unsigned at Notre Dame.

Soderberg is going back to the Avalanche to help with their secondary scoring. Most likely will rejoin the third line which was his spot a couple seasons ago. If not that high, Soderberg should slot nicely into the Avs 4th line. He played 341 games with Colorado in his first stint there.

For the most part, Avalanche fans seem happy to hear that a very popular player is back with the team. The Avs are Stanley Cup contenders and Soderberg’s addition certainly offers the team more depth. He’s got 15 points in 34 games this season.
