Apparently, the next step for WWE — after making a couple billion dollars in new tv deals — is to get the rest of the tv world to take them seriously as a production company the creates material worthy of an Emmy nomination. A recent article in Forbes magazine notes that “WWE is attempting to parlay its recent financial fortunes into critical acclaim as the promotion is preparing to host its inaugural “For Your Consideration” (FYC) Emmy event in North Hollywood.”
WWE will be holding an event that will include some of their biggest stars and they are inviting select media from the Los Angeles area to attend. Vince and company want tv’s inner circle to call them worthy, all while proving that wrestling, namely WWE, is more than just a circus of trained athletes, but a dramatic and award-winning production.

Name like Triple H, Stephanie McMahon, The Bella Twins and Ronda Rousey, Roman Reigns, The New Day, Charlotte Flair and Braun Strowman will all be there and WWE will showcase private screenings of Raw 25, the Mixed Match Challenge and WWE 24: Empowered, and other shows that are considered their real dramatic shows.
This may be a long shot and those who might make or break WWE in this regard are considered very prudish when it comes to accepting this type of entertainment but WWE has not stopped when things have looked bleak before and the attempt alone is press, something WWE is very good at getting.
If WWE can at least get people to look their way when it comes to awards like the Emmy’s, it could be a game-changer in terms of the way the mass non-WWE Universe audience views their product.
