Update on Oilers Colby Cave Health, Medically-Induced Coma

Colby Cave was announced as placed in a medically-induced coma after a brain bleed Tuesday. There are updates on his situation.

In some scary news Tuesday, the Edmonton Oilers announced that forward Colby Cave had been placed in a medically-induced coma and was admitted to the critical care unit at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto. Reports are that Cave suffered a brain bleed overnight. They asked fans to pray for his wife Emily and for Colby. 

Updates on his condition are starting to come out as Mark Spector noted that his condition is not linked to the COVID-19 virus. This news came directly from Cave’s agent.

The 25-year-old forward has appeared in 67 career NHL games with the Oilers and Boston Bruins and everyone is wishing for a speedy recovery for Cave and hope that things turn out for the best.

The Oilers sent a message out on social media saying:

“Colby is an awesome person who scored an awesome goal for us this season,” the team said. “The entire Oilers family is sending you all our love and strength right now.”
