Tyler Toffoli Traded to Vancouver Canucks
Darren Dreger is reporting that Toffoli has been traded to the Vancouver Canucks on Monday.
We wrote about Tyler Toffoli earlier today, suggesting he would be moved. It was a matter of when and not if. The return would be interesting but there were a number of teams that would have interest.
Darren Dreger is reporting that Toffoli has been traded to the Vancouver Canucks on Monday.
The exact return is not yet known but Fox Sports Midwest’s Andy Strickland notes (via Twitter) that it consists of a high draft pick, a prospect, and a roster player.
As per TSN’s Pierre LeBrun, “No salary retained by the Kings on Toffoli ($4.6 M AAV) because there’s an NHL player in the return package which makes the money work. The Kings are getting a pick, a prospect and NHL player plus another conditional pick if Toffoli re-signs with Van”
John Shannon writes, “Team source confirms Vancouver has indeed been for Tyler Toffoli…Player, Pick and Prospect going the other way to SoCal.”
Update:
Canucks moved Tim Schaller, Tyler Madden, a 2020 2nd round pick and a conditional pick (if Toffoli re-signs in VAN).
Toffoli is a good addition and brings a lot to Vancouver – shoots a lot, possession player, adds playoff pedigree, but this is full price and there are a number of people who like Tyler Madden as a prospect.

What’s Next for LA?
It likely won’t just be Toffoli who moves. Alec Martinez and Trevor Lewis, Derek Forbort, Ben Hutton, Joakim Ryan are all scheduled to become unrestricted free agents. Even Jonathan Quick has been in the rumor mill.
