Tyler Myers Getting Close to Return With Canucks?

Could defenseman Tyler Myers be getting closer to a return with the Vancouver Canucks? Wil lhe make it back for the Golden Knights series?

There conflicting reports when it comes to the status of Vancouver Canucks defenseman Tyler Myers.

A couple of days ago, Rick Dhaliwal of TSN 1040 Vancouver reported that Myers wasn’t expected to be ready to return until sometime next week. But, according to reports on Sunday, it sounds like Myers took part in Canucks practice yesterday.

There was an optional skate this morning and he definitely won’t play tonight against the Vegas Golden Knights but the good news is he’s making progress, on the ice and potentially getting closer to a return.

The Delay Helped Myers

The NHL hit pause for two days as part of a plan to offer players and fans a moment of reflection. A combined protest and request for the NHL to delay games on Thursday and Friday led to all series being paused and that is great news for the Canucks who could use a healthy Myers in their lineup.

The more rest the better and that Game 3 was held off gives the Canucks a bit more time. Down 2-1 in the series, Sunday nights contest is not an elimination game and if the Canucks can manage to pull off a win, Myers could potentially be back before the series is wrapped up since they’ll be at least two more games required.

If Myers can make it back, that’s a huge lift for Vancouver as he is a minute-eating machine and the Canucks have played him as such.
