Taylor Hall Scores Beauty First Goal as a Bruins’ Forward

Taylor Hall scored his first goal as a Boston Bruins forward on Thursday, the exact type of goal he was supposed to score often in Buffalo.

It took all of two games for Taylor Hall to score half of the goals he scored this entire season with the Buffalo Sabres. In 37 games with Buffalo, Hall only scored twice. In his second game with the Bruins, he’s potted a goal and the world rejoiced! As one announcer put it, “That is the power wing man they have been looking for, for years!”

Alright, perhaps that’s a bit much. That said, the belief was that Hall would perform better the second he left the Sabres. The black hole of offense that is that team was believed to be partially responsible for his poor production and now that he’s on a squad that has some high-end talent around him and he’s not responsible for being the top man on the offensive totem pole, he should feel more at ease and the goals may start coming in bunches.

The Bruins are now 23-12-6, good for 4th in the East division. If Hall can come in an add some secondary scoring, the team should start to close the gap between 4th and 3rd. They aren’t likely to catch the Penguins, Islanders or Capitals, but they could ride a wave of wins into the postseason and be a handful for any opponent.

We’ll see what the next few games for Hall and the Bruins look like. If he starts to go on a bit of a tear, look out. A confident Bruins team and a confident Hall could be dangerous. Both the Bruins and Hall seem interested in an extension past this season, but if there’s going to be one, Hall needs to a lot more of this over the next 20 games.
