Ryan Reaves Re-Signs With Golden Knights

Ryan Reaves has signed a two year contract extension with the Vegas Golden Knights worth $1.75 million per season.

As per the Vegas Golden Knights official social media account, pending unrestricted free agent Ryan Reaves has signed a two year contract extension with the Vegas Golden Knights worth $1.75 million per season.


In what might be a hint of things to come as free agents come off the board, Reaves took a bit of a paycut, opting to avoid the uncertainty of free agency to stay with the team. He was making $2.775 million and will now one million less per season. That said, Reaves is also not a reflection of the skillset of some of the bigger-name free agents and was public about his desire to stick with the Golden Knights.

Now 33, Reaves had eight goals, 15 points and 47 penalty minutes in 71 games with Vegas this season.

As per the Golden Knights’ official website:

Vegas Golden Knights General Manager Kelly McCrimmon announced today, June 15, that the team has signed forward Ryan Reaves to a two-year contract extension worth an average annual value of $1,750,000.

… During his time with the Golden Knights, the Winnipeg, Manitoba native has collected 37 points (17 G, 20 A) in 172 games. Reaves was acquired by Vegas from Pittsburgh on Feb. 26, 2018.
