Oilers’ New $10 Decade Deals a First Pitch to Bring Fans Back

The Edmonton Oilers are making their first move towards mending fences with many of the fans they’ve angered with their financial greediness over the past couple of seasons. Under the impression that a passionate market would pay nearly any price to watch their beloved Oilers, a serious level of frustration became the fans speaking with their wallets when empty seats started popping up all over Rogers Place this season. Now, the Oilers seem to realize they took things a step too far and are working to bring fans back.

The Oilers have introduced $10 food deals at Rogers Place, including burgers, perogy dogs, and a beer-and-hot-dog combo, as well as discounted $10 parking and $10 Oilers T-shirts. It’s not lower ticket prices, nor an apology over the gouging the Oilers did with their playoff ticket strategy, but it’s a start.

Ticket sales have dropped noticeably, and fewer fans seem to be attending games. Some of that might be franchise fatigue, some of it a boycott of the organization for questionable roster and personel decisions. Most of it is likely financially motivated as the price to attend a game for the average couple is well beyond $300 on any given night. The Oilers decided it was time to act. 

Between $50-$120 per ticket, plus $25 parking, and $50 in food, you can see how quickly the cost of going to a game added up. To ask fans to do so 42 times per season was asking a lot.

$10 Parking

A limited number of $10 (plus a $0.75 transaction fee) parking spots are available in the Arena North Lots on game day only. You can’t book these spots in advance. On game day, once parked, use promo code OILERSPARKING10 at checkout. Available while quantities last.

$10 T-Shirts

Pick up a limited-edition script Oilers t-shirt in cream for only $10 + GST while quantities last, available in a range of sizes at the ICE District Authentics Official Oilers stores located inside Rogers Place at Sections 119 and 127.

$10 Burgers

Grab a delicious $10 Decade Burger or a $10 Perogy Dog at the Rogers Place 10 Year Anniversary portable concession located at Section 107 on the main concourse throughout the game.

Also enjoy a $10 Decade Deal Combo featuring a 12oz. can of Molson Canadian and a Nathan’s Famous All-Beef Hot Dog at Molson Hockey House before every game.
