On this episode, Brooke and Jim discuss some of the latest trade buzz as the NHL is two weeks away from the 2023 trade deadline. Among the popular rumors, both Jakob Chychrun and Vladislav Gavrikov were pulled from their respective lineups for “trade-related reasons”. There’s also speculation surrounding Patrick Kane’s interest in the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Edmonton Oilers trying to make a deal for Erik Karlsson work, and the fact the Calgary Flames might actually test the trade waters with MacKenzie Weegar.
Is Patrick Kane going to fetch the return the Blackhawks want? Is he really only limiting his options to the Maple Leafs or New York Rangers? Would the Flames consider trading Weegar right after acquiring him and signing him to an 8-year deal? Will anyone want that contract? And, are trades for Chychrun and Gavrikov imminent?
