Senators Need a Duchene Decision

Bob McKenzie was on Montreal’s TSN 690 and said, “Ottawa didn’t want to say to Duchene, ‘Okay, you’ve got until Tuesday at noon or we’re going to trade you.’” Unfortunately, time is running out and he added, “at some point here Ottawa has obviously gone back to the notion of trying to trade him, and that’s what Dregs basically reported.”

Ottawa will have their trade plans ready to go and then will come back to Duchene in the final hours and ask if he’s sure he doesn’t want to sign. If he doesn’t commit, the team will trade him.
