Morgan Rielly, Darnell Nurse Among Big Names Featured on Insider’s Trade Board

Rumor season is ramping up around the NHL, with 28 of 32 teams now solely focused on improving their rosters for 2026-27 and beyond.

As a result, insider Frank Seravalli released his first offseason trade targets board on Thursday afternoon, and it features no shortage of big names and hefty contracts—including defensemen Morgan Rielly and Darnell Nurse, who ranked first and 12th, respectively, on the 25-player list.

Seravalli wrote:

“When GM John Chayka hammered home the point in his introductory press conference that the Maple Leafs needed to dramatically improve on the backend, the clock started ticking on Morgan Rielly’s tenure in Toronto. Yes, after nearly 1,000 games all in a Maple Leafs sweater, the time is nigh for Rielly – which is why he tops Hockey 24/7’s first Trade Targets board of the 2026 NHL offseason.

But Rielly, now 32, holds all of the cards with a full ‘no-move’ clause. Is he ready for change? He isn’t alone on the trade board – Vancouver’s Elias Pettersson, Edmonton’s Darnell Nurse and Blues forwards Jordan Kyrou and Robert Thomas all have complete say,”

The 32-year-old Rielly and 31-year-old Nurse both have four years remaining on their eight-year extensions—$60 million for Rielly and $74 million for Nurse—signed with the Maple Leafs and Oilers, respectively, back in 2021.

Vincent Trocheck, Elias Pettersson, and a plethora of St. Louis Blues players—including Jordan Kyrou, Jordan Binnington, Robert Thomas, and Colton Parayko—were among the other intriguing names featured on the board.

As always, there is sure to be plenty of movement and change on these trade boards, though what feels almost certain is that one—or potentially both—of Rielly and Nurse could find themselves new homes this summer after lengthy stints in Toronto and Edmonton.
