Kraken Reveal Their New NHL 2021-22 Roster, Plus Possible Trades

The entire Seattle Kraken roster was announced during the Expansion Draft. Who was picked and who might be traded?

As per The Canadian Press, the Seattle Kraken have officially revealed their full roster for the 2021-22 NHL season. Over the course of a 90-minute presentation, the NHL’s newest franchise went division by division and had Kraken management, staff and a handful of Seattle-based celebrities announce the team’s selections.

The presentation itself was really just a formality as the names being selected leaked hours before the program and on social media by NHL insiders who had uncovered most of the selections earlier in the day. Still, it was an historic moment and the Kraken brought out six of their new players in the new jerseys for the fans who gathered to see.

Follow-up transactions can’t be announced until 1:00 pm tomorrow but there are some trades in the works between the Kraken and other franchises. Dan Rosen wrote after the draft presentation: Seattle GM Ron Francis said there weren’t as many deals made as a lot of insiders are predicting, but there are some coming. Francis noted: “last time GMs were more willing to in a sense overpay to protect certain assets. This time they learned from that and they weren’t willing to make the same mistakes that they made last time.”

It sounds like Tyler Pitlick might be a player other teams have interest in and could be moved.
