Kevin Owens Signs Five-Year Extension With WWE

Kevin Owens will be staying with WWE for quite some time. In news that was reported by wrestlingco.com, Owens has inked a five-year extension with WWE that he hopes will lead to him finishing his career with the biggest wrestling entertainment promotion in the world.

Owens told wrestling historian Patric Laprade, per Angel Rodriguez of WrestlingNews.co. “I just recently signed a new five-year contract with them. I do not intend to go anywhere. If the WWE wants to continue, if I want to continue and my family is ready for me to continue, I do not see why it would not happen.”

It makes sense that WWE would want to keep Owens in the fold. While five-year terms are rare in WWE, Owens has proven to be a good bet. He’s an old-school heel fans love to hate, he can be used in almost any role, he’s a great mic worker and better wrestler and if he were to slip through the fingers of WWE, he’s easily one of the biggest stars in any competing promotion.

Owens celebrated his new contract with a defeat at the hands of Braun Strowman on Monday but that won’t stop Owens from being a nuisance nor is this the end of a push for K.O. He looked stronger in this match than arguably anyone Strowman has ever faced and WWE likely has big things planned for Owens who they need to stay popular for another half a decade.

There may not be many people in WWE who deserve a five-year deal but Owens is one of them. Now, if only WWE would sign Zayn for the same amount of time, these two best friends could grow old in WWE together. Congrats go out to Owens and WWE. One took a job offer to secure his future, the other gave a job offer to potentially help secure theirs.
