Brock Lesnar Not Expected For Money In The Bank

For some reason, WWE is rumored to be keeping Brock Lesnar off their next big pay-per-view, Money in the Bank. Why is WWE having the title holder go so long between appearances?…

While the exact terms of Brock Lesnar’s new contract with WWE are unknown, a recent report suggests that he is not expected to be at WWE’s next big pay-per-view Money in the Bank. There is a discrepancy in some reports that his contract is long-term with others suggesting it doesn’t even go until SummerSlam. If that latter is the case, rumors that he won’t be at WWE’s upcoming pay-per-view are intriguing.

Lesnar is currently the Universal Champion and the titleholder is supposed to defend the belt at least once every 30 days. Clearly, if Lesnar does not appear at Money in the Bank or any episodes of Raw before that (he is not advertised to), this will violate that 30-day rule.

Lensar last wrestled Roman Reigns at The Greatest Royal Rumble, defeating Reigns in a controversial fashion when he was speared through the cage but his body hit the floor before Reigns’ did.

It was expected that Lesnar would be defending the title at next month’s Money In The Bank pay-per-view and at some point dropping the title. In fact, it has been expected he would drop the belt at numerous pay-per-views, but that has yet to happen.

Dave Meltzer is the source who is reporting Lesnar will not be at the show on the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio and that it is not known when his next title defense will be. If the rumors are true that his contract expires before SummerSlam, he will have to defend at Extreme Rules on July 15th otherwise the title would become vacant.

WWE has made some interesting decisions when it comes to Lesnar and the Universal Title. The company has been highly criticized for keeping the belt on a champion who is rarely on television and this decision, if true, will not sit well with the WWE Universe who already is turning on Lesnar for not showing up and constantly threatening to leave WWE for UFC.
