New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman is facing a four-game suspension for violating the league’s performance-enhancing substances policy, according to a report from ESPN. The suspension is under appeal and not much else is known at this time but the news comes with shock and not great timing for the organization who is already in the public eye due to potential relationship issues between the Head Coach Bill Belichick and star quarterback Tom Brady.

The news also comes one day after Edelman talked to the media after returning to camp for the Patriots on Wednesday. Edelman said it was a bummer to watch from the sidelines and he was excited to get back into action and contribute to the team.
