Insider Teases Major Update on Hellebuyck Trade Status
NHL insider Kevin Weekes is teasing that a Connor Hellebuyck trade might be imminent. Where is the goaltender going?
Keep your eyes peeled for a Connor Hellebuyck trade, suggests NHL insider Kevin Weekes. The ESPN analyst likes to drop hints, along with eye emojis. These are usually precursors to big trades, the biggest of the summer potentially being a Hellebuyck deal.
Speculation is that the Buffalo Sabres and Carolina Hurricanes are the two frontrunners. A deal was reportedly almost done with the Sabres, and Hellebuyck has been open to the idea of going there. He would waive his no-trade if the two teams could finalize a return.
The New Jersey Devils and Edmonton Oilers are also in the market for a goaltender and would gladly pay a steep price if Hellebuyck were open to joining either franchise.

More to come…
