Insider Reveals the Trade Destination Tyler Myers Is Sitting Out For
On Thursday, as more news rolled in, that team that is waiting on Tyler Myers to make a decision about a trade became clear.
Tyler Myers was made a healthy scratch on Wednesday night after it was learned that a team had made an offer to acquire him, and the Vancouver Canucks pulled him for precautionary, trade-related reasons. Myers hasn’t been moved yet because he’s considering waiving his no-trade clause to join the club in question, but at the time, it wasn’t clear which team had made the offer.
On Thursday, as more news rolled in, that team became clear.
TSN’s Darren Dreger is reporting the following:
“Tyler Myers continues to consider a trade option. It’s believed Detroit is the target. Other teams have expressed interest, including Dallas. Likely why Myers is taking his time in allowing the process to develop.”
The Red Wings are a team rumored to be sizing up a few trade deadline options, and GM Steve Yzerman is reportedly set to make a move. Myers could be the big swing, but he might be just one of many irons the Red Wings have in the fire. As for who or what the Red Wings have offered, that much isn’t known. It’s unlikely to be a hockey trade, but one that includes a pick or a prospect.

Is Dreger Just “Guessing”?
Of course, Dreger is taking a bit of flak online for “guessing” since there was a back-and-forth between him and a doctor who made the comment that the worry with Sidney Crosby‘s injury was that it might be long-term. Dreger jumped on that doctor for guessing, even though it turned out the prognosis was correct.
He wrote, “I appreciate your opinion. However, it’s unusual for a doctor to share said opinion or concern on social media without having direct connection to the patient or the medical staff.” Is Dreger doing something similar with the Myers report? Or, does he know for a fact that the Red Wings are waiting on Myers’ decision?
