Flames Forward Sam Bennett Would Like a Trade Out of Calgary

Friedman reports that Calgary Flames forward Sam Bennett would like trade and the team will consider it, but isn’t in a rush.

As per a report by Elliotte Friedman on Saturday’s Headlines report, according to Sam Bennett’s agent, the Calgary Flames forward would like a trade. The Flames are apparently choosing to stay “radio silent” on the matter, but when Friedman looked into the rumor, Bennett’s agent confirms that the speculation is true.

The Flames recently held a team-only meeting to deal with how the club has struggled, but worked hard to play a tougher style of hockey. Bennett has always been known as a gritty and skilled forward, but with the team being fairy deep down the middle, there was a rumor going around that Bennett might want to make a change. Friedman reached out to Darren Ferris and he confirmed Bennett would like a trade to be considered.

The Flames are not in any hurry to make a move “they like their depth down the middle, they’re not racing to make a move, but according to the agent for Sam Bennett, he would like a change of scenery.”

A true enigma since the first day he arrived with the Flames, Bennett has been hot and cold with the hockey club, but not done enough and a trade might be good for the player and the team.

We’ll have more on this news as information becomes available.
