What Was Jarnkrok’s Reputation?
What people did know about Jarnkrok was that he had two traits as a player: first, he was versatile; and, second he would play good defense.
Specifically, Jarnkrok was known for his versatility on the ice. He has shown an ability to excel in playing different roles on different lines within his past teams – mostly with the Nashville Predators. His adaptability allowed him to contribute effectively both offensively and defensively, making him a valuable asset in various situations.
Second, Jarnkrok was defensively responsible. He was committed to ensuring that his defensive responsibilities were handled well. He’s focused on preventing opponents from putting up points. His two-way approach demonstrated his commitment to being a well-rounded player who worked to contribute at both ends of the ice.
Who Knew Jarnkrok Could Score?
What fans didn’t know was that Jarnkrok could score goals. In fact, he showed last season that he possesses a goal-scoring instinct, especially from the high slot.
But score 20 goals? It had never happened before and it wasn’t likely to happen with the Maple Leafs.
Surprise. Jarnkrok had a breakout 20-goal season. He was able to find open spaces, fire accurate shots, and capitalize on scoring opportunities. It made him a surprisingly potent offensive threat.

Can Jarnkrok Do It Again?
Now the question is whether Jarnkrok can rack up another impressive 20-goal season. If he can, it would make the four-year deal he signed with the Maple Leafs look like a steal. In fact, Jarnkrok turned out to be a solid value last season, displaying both offense and defense in his game.
As the Maple Leafs enter the season, it would seem that it would be hard for Jarnkrok to put up 20 goals again. Given the new players who have come to the team, these roster changes might limit his top-line opportunities. If so, Jarnkrok would have a tough time reaching the 20-goal mark again.
Still, the potential remains intriguing. It’s possible.
Could Max Domi Be a Key for Jarnkrok?
Given the team’s new roster additions, one possibility stands out that could offer Jarnkrok another chance to score more goals again this season. That’s the possibility of forming a line partnership with playmaker Max Domi. If the twosome were paired together, it might boost Jarnkrok’s offensive output.
What we don’t know now and probably won’t know until at least the training camp is where the coaches see Domi playing.
If Jarnkrok Gets Second Power-Play Time, Could He Hit 40 Points
Last season, Jarnkrok got some time on the second power-play unit. If that happens again, it would give him another chance for scoring success. He racked up 39 points on the season, which was his best ever. Could he reach his first 40-point season?
Whatever, count on Jarnkrok to be his usual 200-foot player again this season. He’ll show his determination, skill, and versatility. It would be good if Jarnkrok had the opportunity to score 20 goals again; however, that mark is not needed for the coaching staff to value his contributions to the team’s success.
