Brady Tkachuk’s Message to Senators Bench After Scoring in Ottawa Finally Revealed

Michael Andlauer has revealed what Brady Tkachuk chirped to the Senators bench after scoring in his emotional return to Ottawa.

Ottawa Senators owner Michael Andlauer has never been shy about sharing his thoughts publicly.

Whether it’s discussing the organization’s lost draft picks, commenting on major roster decisions, or taking aim at league matters, Andlauer tends to generate headlines whenever he speaks. Earlier this offseason, following the blockbuster trade that sent Brady Tkachuk to the Florida Panthers, Andlauer drew attention when he suggested Tkachuk’s father, Keith, and brother, Matthew, played a significant role in the star forward’s desire to leave Ottawa, famously adding that “blood is thicker than water.”

Now, Andlauer has revealed a small but entertaining detail from Tkachuk’s emotional return to Ottawa earlier this week.

Michael Andlauer Reveals Brady Tkachuk’s Message to Senators Bench

Brady Tkachuk has built a reputation as one of the NHL’s premier agitators. Whether he’s battling in front of the net, stirring up post-whistle scrums, or chirping opponents from the bench, the former Senators captain is rarely quiet. As it turns out, his return to Ottawa was no different.

Appearing on the Coming In Hot Senators podcast, Andlauer revealed what Tkachuk said toward the Senators bench after scoring against his former team:

“Some things never change, eh boys?”

The goal gave Florida an early 1-0 lead and sparked an emotional celebration from Tkachuk, who looked determined to make a statement in his first game back at Canadian Tire Centre.

Considering Tkachuk’s personality, hearing that he chirped the Ottawa bench after scoring shouldn’t surprise anyone. What’s perhaps more surprising is how tame the comment was, at least compared to the type of trash talk many fans likely imagined.

Senators Had the Last Laugh

While Tkachuk landed the game’s first jab, the Senators delivered the bigger response. After surrendering the opening goal, Ottawa completely took over, scoring five unanswered goals and cruising to a dominant 5-1 victory over the Panthers.

It’s safe to assume there were a few return chirps directed Tkachuk’s way as the game slipped away from Florida, though none have surfaced publicly.

The rivalry between Tkachuk and his former club is only beginning. Ottawa’s next meeting with Florida on January 18, 2027, is already shaping up as must-watch hockey, and if history is any indication, there won’t be a shortage of storylines leading into that game.

Tkachuk is unlikely to forget the lopsided loss in his return to Ottawa, and fans can expect him to bring plenty of intensity the next time these teams meet.
