Adam Larsson Ready to Return to Oilers

Adam Larsson is set to return from injury this week and will be in the Oilers lineup Thursday at the latest.

The Edmonton Oilers are going to be getting a bit of good news this week. One of their top-four defenders should be coming back from injury and may join the team as early as Tuesday’s game against the San Jose Sharks.

Adam Larsson has been out of the Oilers lineup since Game 1 of the NHL season after blocking a shot. At the time the Oilers head coach Dave Tippett stated, “He’s got a broken bone that’s going to take some time to heal. He’s disappointed, tough break for him,” Oilers coach Dave Tippett said.

You can see in the video below, Larsson talks about his return being 100% for Thursday.

As a result, the Oilers will send Joel Persson back down to Bakersfield and Larsson will likely lineup beside Oscar Klefbom.

This is great news for the Oilers who are still in the thick of things in the Western Conference and trying to put as many points in the playoff bank as possible heading into the Christmas break. A fully-healthy lineup will go a long way to ensuring they don’t go on any kind of slide and Larsson is among their more steady defenders.
