Barclay Goodrow Acquired by Lightning For Huge Return

The Sharks moved winger Barclay Goodrow to the Tampa Bay Lightning for a first-round pick.

As deals come down over the trade deadline wire and trade that are in the que start becoming public, one of the bigger deals of the day is a trade that see the San Jose Sharks and Tampa Bay Lightning make a swap. it’s not bigger in terms of the player, but bigger in terms of how much people are talking about what was given up for the player.

The Sharks moved winger Barclay Goodrow to the Tampa Bay Lightning for a first-round pick.

Goodrow has eight goals and 24 points this season and is coming off a 17 point season. It’s a big return to San Jose for a player which such little production but part of the reason the return was high was the cost of his contract, Goodrow makes just $925k.

Still, most people are looking at this deal as a win for San Jose.
