Fox Promised All Sorts of Goodies to WWE

It’s not that Fox isn’t a juggernaut of its own or couldn’t have secured the rights to WWE programming just by being Fox and spending a lot of money but speculation is that their deal to land SmackDown Live wasn’t the most lucrative deal out there but it was laced with all sorts of incentives.

Fox had to offer that the network would “embrace the WWE” while USA and NBCUniversal are ashamed of WWE taking over their networks. Fox is happy to have wrestling and would happily promote their show on their other major sports programs. That was music to Vince’s ear. So was the fact that the Murdoch’s appealed to his ego and suggested their two families (McMahon and Murdoch) would form a legacy of power unrivaled by any other network.

Finally, Fox included offers of a studio tv show to go along with their carrying SmackDown Live on Fridays.

John Cena and Nikki Bella Back Together

There are all sorts of reports that whatever break Nikki Bella and John Cena were on is now over. They are officially back together and Nikki said publicly that they are working out their issues and proceeding as though they’ll be staying together.

Speculation is still that this breakup was all still a staged dramatic show but Nikki still denies such a plan and there is buzz that it wasn’t doing John Cena any favors being wrapped up in all of this when he should be focusing on his film career.

Rollins Replacing Roman as Brock’s Next Opponent

The Observer is suggesting WWE has no plans to bring back Brock Lesnar before SummerSlam and that when he does return, he won’t be battling Roman Reigns, but instead might have to go to war with another former Shield member. Seth Rollins is being prepped to take Reigns’ spot as the main guy and Reigns will move on to face someone else when he returns, which could be this Monday on Raw.

What this means if true, is WWE is going to have to work a program with Rollins and someone else who will eventually take the Intercontinental Title from around Rollins waist. That someone might be Elias.

WWE and McGregor Working on Something?

What feels like moons ago now, WWE and Conor McGregor were having talks about a potential deal. Dave Meltzer reported that McGregor coming to WWE was something the company wanted but not at the price McGregor was asking. With the two new tv deals WWE just signed, the money may not be as large an issue as it once was.

With the $1 billion deal tv deal Fox signed with WWE, and the likelihood that McGregor’s price has fallen a touch with his recent publicity goofs and potential criminal mess, WWE might be able to swing a deal and McGregor more prone to taking one. The goal might be to make him a part of WrestleMania 35.
