Stolarz Taken To Hospital Following Injury in Maple Leafs Warmups
Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Anthony Stolarz left warmups tonight in Ottawa after taking a puck to the throat.
As per the Toronto Maple Leafs Public Relations team, “Maple Leafs goaltender Anthony Stolarz left warmups tonight in Ottawa after taking a puck to the throat and has been taken to the hospital for precautionary imaging. An update will be provided when available.”
Joseph Woll, who faced the Carolina Hurricanes on Friday night, is starting in Stolarz’s place. This will be Woll’s sixth start in the last seven games.
While the Maple Leafs have too many goalies, this is not a solution to that issue. The hope is that nothing is seriously wrong with the netminder. He’s not had the greatest season and has dealt with injuries, but the puck to the throat is a very dangerous and scary thing.
