With all the talk that Jack Eichel might a player on the move this year, the Buffalo Sabres’ GM felt the need to address the speculation, as well as how poorly the team has been performing. Calling the situation challenging, Kevyn Adams did say that Eichel has not asked to be moved.

Adams did note that he is browsing the trade market and looking for options that could help boost the team. Still, he cautioned fans and media that he wasn’t about to invest in a full rebuild and with the shortened season, COVID protocols and a flattened salary cap. making moves and swinging deals isn’t exactly easy.
He called the players’ performances unacceptable and said he had to be willing to do anything in his role as GM to make this team better, and said:
”I’m waking up every day looking for solutions… I’m on the phone every team, and I think what’s interesting, with all the protocols and quarantine, it’s going to be a challenging year. . . Teams clearly know where we’re at.”
What About Eichel?
Does trading Eichel fall into the category or doing whatever he can to improve the team? It might, but for now, Eichel hasn’t approach him about wanting a trade.
Adams says he is keeping in touch with Eichel and other players. That includes Jeff Skinner and his agent about the fact that he was benched for several games in the past weeks.
