Robin Lehner Traded to Vegas Golden Knights

The Blackhawks have trade goaltender Robin Lehner to the Vegas Golden Knights. The return is a second-round pick, Malcolm Subban and a prospect are going back the other way.

It’s a somewhat surprising move because no one had Vegas on the radar to add a starting goaltender but they’ve gone out and picked up the biggest name on the trade block for netminders in Robin Lehner.

Lehner’s trade out of Chicago wasn’t a huge shock. There were likely issues in Chicago regarding contract extensions between the team and Lehner who had publicly said he was looking to get paid this summer. The debate was then, who would Chicago keep? Lehner or Corey Crawford?

The return is a second-round pick, Malcolm Subban and a prospect are going back the other way.

It will be interesting to see what Chicago now does with Crawford who is a free agent after the end of this season.
