As the Edmonton Oilers get ready to meet the Vancouver Canucks during the second game of the season, what roster moves were made?
With the Edmonton Oilers headed into their first back-to-back game of the season, a number of roster moves were made. In this edition of Edmonton Oilers News & Roster Moves, I’ll share what those roster moves are.

Item One: Tyler Benson Sent to AHL’s Bakersfield
Tyler Benson was assigned to the team’s AHL affiliate – the Bakersfield Condors. During the 2019-20 season, Benson had nine goals and 27 assists (for 36 points) in 47 games. In his time with the Oilers, he contributed one assist in seven games.
Item Two: Evan Bouchard Has Been Moved to the Oilers’ Taxi Squad
It was thought that Evan Bouchard might have a good chance to make the regular Oilers’ roster; however, he’s been assigned to the team’s taxi squad instead. Bouchard was a healthy scratch in the Oilers’ season opener against the Vancouver Canucks on Wednesday.

Item Three: The Oilers Have Recalled Stuart Skinner from Their Taxi Squad
Perhaps there will be a move in the roster, or perhaps this is a temporary emergency basis. Whatever the reason, Stuart Skinner has been recalled from the taxi squad for the Oilers’ back-to-back game against the Canucks tonight.

Skinner could just be on the roster as insurance with the Oilers set to play for the second time in two nights. Mike Smith is slated to start with Mikko Koskinen as the backup, assuming they are both healthy.
