As per reports, Radko Gudas is believed to have signed a deal with the Florida Panthers in the opening minutes of NHL free agency. Elliotte Friedman notes that the deal for Gudas in Florida is 3 years x $2.5 million per season.
Gudas is a defenseman that plays with considerable bite and will be going the Panthers. He takes pride in playing a physical, hard-hitting style and being very hard to play against.
Gudas’s play fell off big time this past season after moving to a new team. Still, he was a defensive stud with the Philadelphia Flyers. The Panthers are hoping their team will provide a better fit.
Gudas said part of the decision had to do with his family. He felt Florida was the best fit for those reasons. He called it a ‘no brainer” when the team offered up the three-year term.
This may result in the Panthers moving Mackenzie Weegar who has a similar style game but would have cost the Panthers a bit more money.
