Full details:
William Eklund, Kasper Halttunen, and the rights to Brandon Svoboda go to the Senators in exchange for the 9th overall pick in the 2026 NHL Draft.
Eklund, 23, is the centerpiece, bringing 163 career NHL points and a long-term contract through 2028-29. He had 15 goals and 53 points in 78 games last season. He had 17 goals and 16 in the two previous seasons.
Halttunen, 21, adds depth after a solid AHL season, while Svoboda remains a developing NCAA prospect. Senators GM Steve Staios praised Eklund’s skill and competitiveness, viewing him as a strong fit with the team’s core as Ottawa continues to reshape its roster.

It will be interesting to see what the Sharks do with these picks. Do they make them, or are they big trade hunters?
