Nurse And Bouchard Named To Team Canada At Worlds

Edmonton Oilers’ d-men Darnell Nurse and Evan Bouchard have been named to Team Canada for the World Hockey Championships.

For a couple of Edmonton Oilers, their season will be extended by a few more weeks to play for their nation. On Tuesday morning, TSN’s Darren Dreger first reported that Oilers blueliners Darnell Nurse and Evan Bouchard have been named to Team Canada for the World Hockey Championships in Zurich and Fribourg, Switzerland, from May 15th to May 31st.

For Nurse, it will be his third time playing at the Worlds, having previously represented Canada in the 2018 and 2019 tournaments. In 2019, he picked up a silver medal as the only Oiler on that year’s squad. For Bouchard, it will be his first time suiting up for Canada on the senior men’s level.

Bouchard’s last time playing for any Canadian national team came back in the 2019 World Junior Hockey Championships. The pair also represents, as it stands, the only Oilers partaking in this year’s tournament.
