It’s been long-rumored that, at some point, the Colorado Avalanche would bring back to old Quebec Nordiques jerseys to pay tribute to the team they once were before moving to Colorado. And, since their move from Canada to their current home took place 25 years ago this season, there seems like no better time to reference their unique history.

Fans have always wanted to see the the Avs players don Nordiques jerseys one more time and if a hint from Nathan MacKinnon means anything, get ready to be excited.

A social media post from MacKinnon hints there will be some sort of throwback themed elements included in the jersey design this season. A photo tease of his gloves showcases colors matching the old Nordiques gear and people are having a good time with the idea.

It might not mean anything or it could mean going back to the old stadium jerseys, but this is a lot more fun.

And, because the Avs are favorites to win the Stanley Cup and have a stacked team, this would be the perfect time to include the Nordiques in their design ideas.
