It’s been an unusual season, but the Toronto Maple Leafs are managing just fine, thank you. They are now 11-2-1 for the season and lead the Canadian-based North Division by five points over the Montreal Canadiens and the Edmonton Oilers.
Mitch Marner Speaks Confidently About His Team’s Start
In the video below, Mitch Marner was interviewed and talks about the team’s confidence heading into multiple games – playing the same opponent game-after-game.
As he talks about the tactics his team uses to prepare, it’s much the same wording that hockey players use over and over again. However, as you listen to Marner talk, there just seems to be a level of confidence in his language and tone that offers fans an insight into just how ready his team is for whatever comes up.
Marner’s Tone Tells Much About His Team’s Confidence
In short, its the same language Hockey players use day after day, but there’s a totally different tone to it. See for yourself as you listen to the video.
The Maple Leafs have had a great start and are naturally confident. One of the things that Mitch Marner noted is that the team is preparing to be “ready for anything.” In fact, the team is just focusing on taking the course of the season in a day-by-day manner.
You can tell that the Maple Leafs are completely up for whatever comes next. They obviously aren’t fearing facing any opponent; and, when one game is over, the team looks forward to the next.
The Maple Leafs Are Trying to Get Used to the Unusual
As Marner said specifically, our “mentally is trying to be ready for anything.” He also noted that “obviously, the season’s a little different than usual.” As a result, he added that “It’s really weird with everything going on, so I think we’re just trying to get used to the unusual.”
By the way, Marner’s last comment is simply “We’re doing great with it.”
I guess the Maple Leafs are doing great with what’s happening. The team has gotten points in the last nine games and hasn’t lost in regulation since the Edmonton Oilers beat them 3-1 on January 20.
