Leon Draisaitl is back! The superstar forward for the Edmonton Oilers has been activated from LTIR, the team announced on Monday. He will suit up as the Oilers take on the Anaheim Ducks to open Round 1 of their 2026 playoff run.
He missed the final 14 games of the regular season with a lower-body injury (from March 15 vs. Nashville) but has been skating hard, practicing fully (including on the top power play and centering a line with Vasily Podkolzin and Kasperi Kapanen), and looked ready. Coach Kris Knoblauch and the team kept it quiet until today’s official announcement.
This is a massive boost for the Oilers—Draisaitl is a Hart Trophy-caliber player and pairs with Connor McDavid to give them one of the league’s most dangerous top lines. Expect him to play significant minutes, especially on the power play.

The Oilers will enter the lineup at nearly full health.
