Elliotte Friedman noted during Sportsnet’s broadcast of the Edmonton Oilers versus the Boston Bruins game, the Bruins might be a team interested in Columbus Blue Jackets’ forward Josh Anderson.
Saying it might be a difficult move to make considering Anderson hasn’t played in two months, there’s some uncertainty there, especially considering the Bruins are rumored to be in on other players as well — they are considered a front-runner for Chris Kreider.
Brian Burke wasn’t as convinced Anderson wouldn’t garner interest. Calling him a big, truculent guy that can move, “there would be a lot of teams interested if he gets a clean bill of health, or even if he’s cleared to play in three more weeks.”
That becomes the debate. How healthy is Anderson and can he help you in a playoff run, even if he doesn’t really help you get to the playoffs? If teams run out of options or the ask isn’t incredibly high, there could be a team that’s a shoe-in for the playoffs that takes that chance.
