Kucherov Calls Out Canadiens Fans in Epic Post Game Rant
Moments after last nights Stanley Cup victory, Nikita Kucherov gave one of the more electric post game pressers the NHL has ever seen.
Last night, the Tampa Bay Lightning were awarded the Stanley Cup after beating the Montreal Canadiens by a final score of 1-0.
As per usual, celebrations began immediately and it was evident from some interviews that the players had already had their fair share of drinks. That is typical of the Stanley Cup winning team every year, so nothing was much of a shock in that regard. However, what was shocking was the interview Nikita Kucherov gave, which included him calling out voters for not voting Andrei Vasilevskiy as the Vezina Trophy winner, referring to Marc-Andre Fleury as “that guy in Vegas”, and even calling out the Montreal Canadiens fans for how they celebrated after their teams Game 4 victory.

Kucherov Rant Reactions
For most, this interview was quite funny given that hockey players are often criticized for not opening up to media and giving the same answers over and over again. However, some Canadiens fans seem to think differently, calling the comments classless and unnecessary. In a sense, they may be right, but it is important to understand that in this clip Kucherov is clearly intoxicated and is also on an extremely emotional high from winning the Stanley Cup.
At the end of the day, Kucherov likely doesn’t care what anyone has to say in regards to this clip. The 28-year-old is no stranger to controversy in these playoffs, as many criticized both him and the Lightning for faking, or at least exaggerating, his injury this season in order to keep him on long-term injured reserve which allowed the team to remain under the salary cap. Even if they did exaggerate the injury however, they technically didn’t do anything wrong and it paid off, as they are now back to back Stanley Cup Champions.

Despite missing the entire season, Kucherov proved just how good of a player he is, showing zero signs of rust with eight goals and 32 points in 23 playoff games. It was yet another impressive showing for the Russian forward, who at this point seems to be on a Hall of Fame path. Regardless of whether or not that happens, he will always be remembered for this legendary presser, as it truly is one of the craziest quotes we have ever heard from an NHL player.
