Jakub Voracek Cusses Out Reporter, Konecny’s Reaction Is Priceless

Philadephia Flyers forward Jakub Voracek lost it on Inquirer reporter Mike Sielski during a post-game media scrum.

Man on man, don’t get on the wrong side of Philadephia Flyers forward Jakub Voracek. Media man and scribe Mike Sielski did and Voracek never forgot it. So, when he had time to ask a question, Jake let him have it. ** Warning: the below video clip has foul language.

Voracek said when answering a question about how different this season feels, if at all just two games in. Before trying to answer Sielski, Voracek said “Doesn’t matter Mike, you’re gonna write fu–ing sh-t every time…I wasn’t even gonna answer your question, you’re such a weasel it’s not even funny.”

Clearly not a Voracek fan, Sielski has taken Voracek to task a few times. And, it can be argued he went well beyond simply critiquing the play of the forward and made it personal. At one point, he tweeted that the Flyers were collapsing and he blamed Voracek for all of it.

Jakub Voracek Flyers Interview

Needless to say, come up with whatever catchphrase you want but Voracek had something to say and he said it. The thought had clearly been weighing on him for some time and he finally had the opening he wanted so he took it. He dropped an elbow off the top rope and he became a hero to many a hockey player at the same time.

Perhaps the funniest part of the whole video is teammate Travis Konecny’s reaction after Voracek loses it. He’s doing his best to hold it together and two players eventually start to laugh.

We’ll see if this has any consequence and even if it does, Voracek could probably care less.

I fu–ing love it. Beat writers that have never laced up a pair of skates and played the game in their life, love to rip apart players all of the time. I get it, Jake’s contract is weighing on the team. Many people believe he is not playing up to his contract because he isn’t scoring, but he does other things well. He moves the puck well, controls it, and passes with precision. He is in the top in assists every year now. He has also been very solid in OT and shootouts. His game has changed over time because his role has changed. I don’t believe he ever takes a shift off. He is always skating hard. I’m glad he snapped back at that piece of sh-t.
